The Corpus of the Kālacakra Teaching Basic Texts

The article is the first system investigation of the corpus of the basic texts (tantras) of the Kālacakra teaching (early XI century). This corpus contains the fragments of the original text – the Paramādi-buddha (the Mūla-tantra) – and six complete texts: the Sekoddeşa, the Śrī-kālacakra-nāma-tantra-rāja (the Laghu-tantra), the Śrī-kālacakra-tantrottara-tantra-hŗdaya, the Śrī-kālacakra-laghu-tantra-rāja-hṛdaya (the Laghu-tantra-hṛdaya), the Śrī-kālacakra-garbha-nāma-tantra, the Śeka-prakriya. The author focuses on the structure, themes and functions of these texts.
