Kadizadelism in the Crimean Khanate: Muhammad al-Kafawi (d. 1754)

The article is dedicated to the development of the Kadizadeli reform movement in the Crimean Khanate of the eighteenth century. The main sources are the works of the jurist and theologian Muhammad al-Kafawi. The article analyses the basic Kadizadeli ideas. Muhammad al-Kafawi argued for the revising of the Islamic religion, namely the issue of worship (‘ibadah).
