Orientalists-Interpreters at the Service of the Chinese Eastern Railway

The article deals with an attempt to analyze on the basis of unpublished archival documents activity of orientalists, who used to serve for the Chinese Eastern Railway (CER) as dragomans and interpreters in 1920–1930s. Among discussing questions there are the organization of Translation Service at CER, education of dragomans and interpreters, their way of life and fortunes in Manchuria.
