The features of German approach towards the usage of the military tools in the Middle East

During the end of the twentieth century and in the early twenty first century the importance of the Middle East for the German foreign policy has increased. From one side, it is due to the trend of increasing of German positions on the world arena. From another side, it was caused by the increasing of interdependence between Germany and regional states in all spheres, first of all in the security issues, in terms of the EU and NATO enlargement. In this regard the article issues the German position towards the usage of its military instruments in the Middle East as an index of direction of German policy in the region as a whole. The article studies German line during the Iraqi military and political crisis (2003), the Bundeswehr usage in peacekeeping activity in the zone of armed conflict in the southern Lebanon (2006) and the problems of Bundeswehr usage for the solution of Libyan and Syrian problems. The article pays attention to the dynamics of military-economic contacts between Germany and Saudi Arabia and the influence over it of the factor of improving of relations between Iran and the West. The article traces the features of the usage of Bundeswehr in combating and non-combating actions and the perspectives of usage by Germany of its different military tools in the Middle East.
