Water power in Central Asia and its challenges

The last few years have made their own adjustments to the plans for the development of hydroelectric projects in Central Asia. The article considers how the death of Islam Karimov, decrease in water availability of rivers, economic crisis in Russia, which led to the curtailment of several Russian investment projects in the region, and other circumstances are transforming the energy development plans of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
