While they study great battles such as at Moscow, Stalingrad or Kursk-Orel, in Normandy, Nrdennes or at the island of Leyte, heroic deeds, performed by soldiers who had fought at less known sites, sometimes remain overlooked. It is not their fault that they did not happen to be in the epicenter of events at that time, but they did all they could to help destroy fascism and nazism and to save humankind from &amp;quot;the brown plague&amp;quot;. The article that we would like to offer to the attention of our readers is dedicated to one of not-so-well known pages of history. It tells the story of F. Leclerc, a French officer who had joined the Free France. N small force under his command managed to fight its way through Sahara from Chad to the Mediterranean coastline, taking the towns of Fezzan from Italians on their way. Later this force under the name Formation &amp;quot;L&amp;quot; fought in the desert, on the left flank of the English 8th army, and it had played an important role in the battles on the south of Tunisia, which have resulted in German-Italian Nfrican Nrmy surrender.</p></trans-abstract></article-meta></front></article>
