<trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
The article is devoted to the analysis of two so-called minor cemeteries in Giza Necropolis, discovered and studied by the Russian Archaeological Mission of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in front of the rock-cut tombs of Khafraankh and Thenty I from 1999 to 2017. All the necropoleis were located locally, densely occupying the limited rock spaces at the eastern edge of the Eastern Field of Giza Necropolis. Such locality and compactness was dictated by the topography, as well as, apparently, by the desire to build a cemetery as close as possible to a certain cult object, which in the cases was a noble tomb dated to the second half of the Old Kingdom. The two analyzed minor cemeteries located in front of the rock-cut tombs of Khafraankh and Thenty I are generally synchronous with these tombs, dated back to the second half of the 3rd millennium B.C. and demonstrate the common logic of development, architectural forms and burial rites, but, apparently, were not only family cemeteries, but also the burial place of the servants of the owners of the Giza privileged tombs and people of one profession. Analogues to such minor cemeteries in the Memphitic Region are few in number (mostly found in western Saqqara), which is probably due to the procedureof archaeological excavations in the late 19th – early 20th centuries. Based on the discovery of the minor cemetery of the 1st millennium B.C. above the rock-cut tomb of Kaherptah in Giza, we can conclude that the tradition of constructing special burial places near the remarkable tomb complexes has long existed. All this testifies to the persistence of ancient Egyptian funerary beliefs, the tendency of Egyptians to perceive ancient religious monuments as sacred spaces and demonstrates the originality of ancient Egyptian civilization, unique and extremely recognizable in its uniformity.
</trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Египет</kwd><kwd>Гиза</kwd><kwd>Древнее царство</kwd><kwd>погребальный обряд</kwd><kwd>Российская археологическая экспедиция ИВ РАН в Гизе</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Egypt</kwd><kwd>Giza</kwd><kwd>Old Kingdom</kwd><kwd>burial rites</kwd><kwd>Russian Archaeological Mission at Giza (IOS RAS)</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front>
