Аннотация
2 июня 2007 г. скоропостижно скончался видный российский арабист, известный специалист в области экономических и социальных проблем современного Ирака, старший научный сотрудник Центра арабских исследований Института востоковедения РАН, кандидат экономических наук Григорий Сергеевич Шахбазян. Г.С. Шахбазян состоял членом центрального правления Общества советско-иракской дружбы (ныне - Общество дружбы с Ираком), а в 1999 г. был избран вице-президентом Комитета по научному, культурному и деловому сотрудничеству с Ираком. Данная статья, написанная в 2007 г., не утеряла своей актуальности, поскольку сохраняется опасность того, что Ирак может исчезнуть как целостное государство.
Abstract
This article written in 2007 has not lost its topicality for there is still the danger that Iraq may disappear as a whole state. In the course of the military operations in Iraq from 60 to 100 thousand civilians have died. Two million people have become refugees, 1.8 million people have become displaced persons. Every year 15% of children die at the age of up to 8 years. By March 2007 3220 US servicemen, 132 Britons and 124 other representatives of the coalition had been killed, 25 thousand had been wounded seriously (Nezavisimaya Gazeta, 20.03.07). At ethnic and religious civil war is flaming on Iraq's territory, mainly between the Sh//tes and the Sunnites. It threatens to break up the country into three parts - the Sunnite, the Sh//te and the Kurdish ones. As a result Iraq is on the brink of disappearing as a one state, its future and territorial integrity are open to question.
