Статья представляет собой попытку обобщить некоторые результаты исследо- ваний последних лет и выделить наиболее важные аспекты, заслуживающие внимания специалистов - историков и филологов, в первую очередь тюркологов и иранистов.

Abstract
The early period of Turkic History remains poorly studied. Materials of the narrative sources are exhausted. Archeological excavations in the territory of Gorny Altai indicate a Mongolian cultural infl uence on early stages of Turkic History. There was Iranic infl uence on the Turkie: royal names. But there was no Iranic infl uence on the culture of Altaic local population. They followed their traditions, onomastics and the cults of the Wolf and the cult of Holy cave that had Mongolian and Altaic (Turkic?) origin respectively. There were, probably, the two migration waves to Altai. The fi rst was a nomadic group of ancient Mongolian culture (apparently, Xian-bei). The second group was probably a bearer of Iranic cultural elements.
