<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>India has become one of the fastest growing economies in the world. After India&amp;apos;s transition in the early 1990s to a new liberal model of agrarian development significant shifts took place in the country&amp;apos;s economy, both in the field of production and in the field of institutions and economic relations. However, the uneven development of the state’s hinders stable and sustainable economic growth, primarily in the agricultural sector. Acute discussions on the uneven agricultural growth of the North and South of India, which began in the 1980s, continue to appear on the pages of scientific literature. The Indian Government has taken a number of measures aimed at reducing inequality. In a number of states, such measures had a certain effect, in particular in the central and western states, but at the same time there were negative side effects. Using the example of agricultural efficiency indicators, the article shows how uneven agricultural growth manifests itself between the states, estimates the uneven dynamics of grain yields and labor productivity. The measures taken by the Government of India to reduce the uneven development of the states have been studied. A comparative analysis of the states of economic growth in various sectors of agriculture under the influence of the new agrarian strategy of the state is carried out. The result of the government&amp;apos;s measures was the smoothing of inequality between the states at the macro level, and the preservation of poverty in the farms of peasant producers of basic food products – cereals and pulses.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Индия</kwd><kwd>штаты Индии</kwd><kwd>сельское хозяйство</kwd><kwd>экономический рост</kwd><kwd>неравномерность</kwd><kwd>эффективность производства</kwd><kwd>урожайность</kwd><kwd>производительность труда.</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>India</kwd><kwd>States of India</kwd><kwd>Agriculture</kwd><kwd>Economic growth</kwd><kwd>Unevenness</kwd><kwd>Efficiency of production</kwd><kwd>Yield</kwd><kwd>Labor productivity.</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front></article>
