Аннотация
Этноним справедливо считается внешним проявлением этнического самосознания. Последнее, составляя наиглавнейший признак этноса, выражает чувство принадлежности к определенной этнической общности и является отражением в сознании людей реально существующих этнических связей. Поэтому правильное установление происхождения и семантики самоназвания означает наиболее эффективное выявление и изучение этнических связей, которые развивались внутри этноса и привели к его сложению. Сказанное в полной мере относится и к этнониму монгол. При исследовании проблемы образования монгольского народа исключительно важно выяснение этимологии его самоназвания, в котором, как и в любом другом, в концентрированном виде заключена редкостная информация об истории его носителей.
Abstract
The article is devoted to the etymology of the ethnic name Mongol, determining its original sounding, semantics, the place and time of its origin. The author suggests a novel well-reasoned version of the origin of this name based on the information o written monuments and the results of expedion explorations in the north-east of the Chinese People's Republic. The analysis of the source materials cogently about the origin of the term Mongol in the period of the Tang Chinese dynasty on the right bank of the Argun river (Erguneh), where having escaped a rout by the Turks, the Mongol's ancestors hid. The revealing of the original form of the ethnic name (Mongol) proves that the name of the Mangu river, the right tributary of the Argun is in its basis. After the XIII century the name Mongol, having preserved its original semantics - those who live on the Manguriver has got the form Mongol known at present. The study has been done in close connection with the problem of Erguneh-kunah which is one of the key elements in the world Mongol studies.
