A fleeting glance at the historical past of many peoples (no only those of Dagestan) can serve as the evidence about the presence of a system of measures and methods of the moral self-cleansing of society. The presence of such a system and turning to it periodically have been the factors conducing to not only the self-preservation of a nationality and ensuring dynamic stability in society, but also to preventing possible social conflicts on the ground of immoral behaviour. For example, in the traditional Dagestan society a stage-by-stage system of measures has formed which has ensured moral and psychological stability in it. In many cases these measures have had a preventive character; together with them the measures of influence, quite harsh and strict, have been worked out, such as ostracism, for serious violations of public norms of behaviour.
