<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The aim of the article is to establish new facts from the history of the traditional forms of border relations between the Don Cossack Host and the Ottoman Azov (“zamireniye” and “rozmireniye”), studying the processes of the 17th c., until the situation in 1637 – the middle of the 1640s. The agenda includes questions about the practices of “zamireniye” in the space of local border life, about the evolution of the forms and conditions of the diplomatic process. New data is provided on the material component during the conclusion of the truces, the burden of which lay on the Turks. Important questions – the reasons for concluding agreements, their duration and grounds for violation are being investigated. The article actualizes the problem of the origin and composition of the main mediators of the process – peacemakers representing both sides.
The story of the “zamireniye” is presented by the background of the rhythms of Ottoman-Cossack relations, in the space of border diplomacy, not controlled by Moscow and Istanbul. The article also examines the role of Russian diplomats in organizing and implementing the conversation process between the Don Cossacks and the Ottoman Turks. The “zamireniye” of the Cossacks and the Turks had a positive effect on their ability to survive. The conclusion about the forms of border interaction between the Don Cossacks and the Turks is substantiated. It is necessary to study the history of not only the military confrontation between the parties, but also other phenomena of local border life.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Азов</kwd><kwd>Войско Донское</kwd><kwd>Османская империя</kwd><kwd>пограничная дипломатия</kwd><kwd>Северо-Восточное Приазовье</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Azov</kwd><kwd>Don Cossacks Host</kwd><kwd>Ottoman Empire</kwd><kwd>border diplomacy</kwd><kwd>North-Eastern Azov Sea region</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front></article>
