Diplomatic Relations between Russia and the Ottoman Empire in the Second Half of the 18th Century

This article touches upon the subject of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Ottoman Empire in the context of evolution of international relations following the Seven Years War, the Treaty of Kuchuk Kaynardji up to the Treaty of Jassy. The military victories of Russia changed the nature of Russian-Ottoman relations in which Russia began to play a dominant role. In the second half of 18th century the diplomatic relations between the Russian Empire and the Ottoman State developed in accordance with unstable fluctuations in European international relations.
