Marxism and Vedanta in India today

The article treats the problem of reception of Marxism in contemporary Indian culture and interaction between Marxist philosophy and Vedānta – dominating system in intellectual landscape of modern India. Adoption of Marxism by Indian culture is facilitated by the fact that some concepts of the Vedānta philosophy have not only religious aspect, but also a social one.
