Forest Management and Forestry in the State of Tanguts

Forest management and forestry in the Tangut State of Xi Xia (982–1227) were highly developed and showed features of the Eastern Asian model of nature management. Tanguts had good knowledge of forests and trees and could cultivate them. They paid a special attention to creation of defense forest strips along irrigation canals that was included into Tangut low codex.
