China and the Arab Countries: the Nature of the Interaction

The paper focuses on key characteristics of Chinese relations with Arab countries of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). China – OIC relations began in the mid-70s and gradually reached a new high level. The interaction between them is considered by Chinese and Arabic officials as a cooperation in different areas, from humanitarian, scientific and technical fields to economic and trade cooperation. Relations are based on situation with Chinese Muslims and mutual interests of China and Islamic countries. There are three key points: providing so-called “correct” Islamic education, free of extremism trends; familiarizing the citizens of Arab countries with China and Chinese culture, creation image of the world friendly powerful state on the one hand and OIC politics of supporting Islamic culture on the other hand.
