Vostok/Oriens '2014, №4

The paper tells a history of Persians Cossacks brigade which was in 1882–1885 under the command of Piotr V. Tcharkovsky. At that time the brigade acquired its classic form which formally did not change up to the end of the nineteenth century. It looked like as an organized, well-equipped and prepared military unit. But it had many inner problems. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the brigade the political project. Its main goals were to prevent the instruction of Iraq army by British army and to strengthen the Russian influence on the shah. As a result, the brigade did focus on the parade training. The combat training and internal integrity were sacrificed in order to gain the political profit.
