A Note on the Status of the Seleucid Settlement in the Island of Failaka

The Seleucid settlement in the Island of Failaka can hardly be considered katoikia “colony” because of shortage of fertile land for granting the soldiers of the garrison. The Seleucid fortress was situated in the best part of the island which has given fresh water supply and where the sea is rather safe for navigation
