Vostok/Oriens '2015, №6

This article deals with the slaughter of Banoo Tameem, an Arabic tribe of north-east Arabia, by Sasanian Persians and their Arabic allies, in the beginning of the seventh century. Accounts of that event are found in numerous mediaeval treatises. This article is an attempt to reconstruct the events as they occurred, to suggest a dating, and to show what the episode in question did mean for the history of north-east Arabia of that time.

Keywords: the Banu Tamim tribe, Khosrau I, policy in northeastern Arabia
