African Traditional Ethics in the Context of Modernity

The article considers the problems of traditional African ethics in its relationship with the modern processes of the African continent. The authors analyze the major ethical systems and the associated models of national reconciliation (for example, South Africa, Rwanda, and Madagascar). The article shows the role of traditional ethics, morality and traditional values in the solution of social and political conflicts. The article shows that the use of traditional ethics in a crisis provides an opportunity to overcome the crisis and create the conditions for economic, social and political modernization.
