Arab Newspaper Headlines: on Expressing of their Communicative Function

This paper based on Arabic and Russian newspaper materials reviews the ways of expressing the communicative function of newspaper headline, which plays an important role in building communication with readers and facilitating their understanding of text. It manifests itself in the text with the help of such methods as informative, graphic, pragmatic, expressive and intertextual. Such methods are universal and equally typical for headlines in Arabic and Russian press.
