The Khövsgöl Rebellion of 1932 in Mongolia

Sergius Kuzmin , Jugdernamjilyn Oyuunchimeg

Vostok/Oriens '2015, №3

The paper offers a description of the armed rebellion of 1932 in Mongolia. This was the largest rebellion in this country in the twentieth century. It was caused not by Panchen Lama or Japan, as considered earlier, but by the “left policy” of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party. This “left policy” was conducted and then cancelled under the guidance of the Politburo of the Central Committee of All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) and the Comintern. The rebellion of 1932 may be considered as a civil war.
