The Texts of the Pyramid of Pepi I: their Maintenance and Operation in the Space of the Tomb

The pyramid of the king Pepi I (VI dynasty) is a unique object. The Pyramid texts were discovered there for the first time in the history of Egyptology. This article examines the Pyramid texts: how to read them, how they relate to the tomb of Pepi I, what was the burial ritual which could take place there. The author focuses on the application technique used on the texts walls of the inner chambers. The location of these texts on the pyramid walls is compared with that of other tombs.
