Islam in France: the Moslems and the Secular Republic

The article examines the evolution of the Muslim community in France's secular society. It provides a review and a characteristic of the different directions of the Muslim identity and the main Muslim organizations. It also analyses the phenomenon of the radicalization of a part of the Muslim youth and the formation of Islam as an element of the French culture leading to hostility and divisions in the French society.
